Dr. Immanuel is a double boarded Adult and Pediatric Psychiatrist who joined the Rice Counseling Center in 2023. She is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology where she earned a B.S in Biomedical Engineering. She received her M.D from Medical College of Georgia and completed her residency and fellowship at University of Virginia and Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining the RCC, she worked in behavioral health hospital settings and outpatient clinics providing evidenced-based care to clinically diagnosed populations. In her academic career she is a published author (several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters) and achieved the distinction of a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) fellowship. She has presented several lectures and workshops at the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and Association for Academic Psychiatry(AAP) conferences. She is focused on providing thoughtful and comprehensive treatment recommendations that can include medication. In her spare time, Josepha enjoys traveling, painting, and naps.
