Sydnecia is a LPC-Associate supervised by Tia Jennings LPC-Supervisor. She received her Master’s degree in Counseling Development from Lamar University. Prior to joining Rice, she worked at her alma mater where she created outreach programming to support stopped out students with some college credit no credentials with their return to complete their studies. She has also been a clinical therapist providing support to adolescent girls and women living with disordered eating patterns and comorbidities. She enjoys collecting concert t-shirts and dancing. 

Professional Interests: first time in college students, media literacy impacts on mental health, gender studies, community building and engagement.
